Soccer and Flag Football

Things are picking up at HSRC Sports once again. Flag football is now in its second year, and appears to be popular again, with nineteen young men coming to practice. They will probably be forming two teams, and will be playing Luther East, as they did last year, and possibly HRK of Gurnee, also as they did last year.  One game is set, and that will probably be a combined HSRC team vs. Luther East at 10:30 AM on September 25. This game will be played at Luther East and will serve as their homecoming sports event. Dave Giuliani and Josh Zumhagen are heading up the team, as they did last year, with much help from Clarence Huizenga and Kyle Wessels.

Steve Goudzwaard is coaching a junior high soccer team, the inaugural season for this squad and HSRC's first foray into the sport of soccer. Fifteen players have been attending practice which gives us a nice number for a team. We've already got eight games on the schedule, including a tournament in which the team will play three games. I will get the schedule up soon.

We're working on basketball for the upcoming season. Anyone interested in playing, please contact Kristi at kristi.boss@fofc.org. Deadline for registering is September 17, and a $50 deposit toward the season fee of $150 is required at registration. We're hoping to have high school and junior high teams of both boys and girls this year.
